The UK National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has recommended that Eli Lillys Alimta be made available by the National Health Service for patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma. Given that Alimta is the only approved treatment for this form of lung cancer, uptake in the UK market is likely to be rapid, offering significant commercial rewards.
